This page definitely has room to grow, as the only polish I've ever used is Nu-Finish.  It's really easy to apply, so there's very littel to say about it.  I use these little foam pads with a cloth cover to apply it:

It's easiest to dump some polish into some sort of bowl, and then dab up the polish onto the applicator.  I use tight circular motions, but it probably doesn't help anything besides my sense of doing a good job.

When the polish has dried, I wipe it off with a microfiber towel.
